HAIR Los Angeles Gets A Makeover

HAIR Los Angeles Gets A Makeover

At the end of 2021, my fiance, Danny, and I went to the Greenbrier for the first time which was a huge revelation when it came to print, color, and living in a maximalist way. We left knowing we needed the salon to feel more like this place. Our friend Greg Ito who is an awesome artist and client of the salon recommended Luc Fuller of Spiritual Objects who did the custom vanity stations that are straight out of Pee Wee’s Playhouse. I incorporated lots of historical prints from Dorothy Draper & Co. and paid tribute to them as the oldest decorating firm in America. We even have one of the stations painted in Dorothy Draper’s signature “Dorothy Pink” color.

The paintings in the salon are all from Danny and I’s collection. Exposing people to strong emerging art has always been a huge part of my life coming from the time when I edited an art magazine called Packet Biweekly. I consider the salon an extension of that practice. This is really Dan and I’s living room for the creative powerhouses of LA. This new renovation really reflects the masterful work he and his team are creating every day. It elevates the salon experience to a high art moment- with a sense of humor and not the typical griege mess that salons are these days. In many ways, it mirrors my own practice in the real estate field. I have a commitment to standing out and offering a unique client experience against the cookie-cutter way of doing things. I love that this space with the remodel that I worked on is a physical representation of those values that I hold.
